If the styling wasn't enough to impress you, to keep up with the Joneses, BMW also added all-wheel drive to the lineup. The results are undeniable; The M4 Competition xDrive coupe sprints to 60 in just 2.8 seconds, thanks mostly to a system that puts its 503 horsepower to the ground. Remember when there was a rush for motorcycles? Despite their nearly two-ton curb weight, they are also capable of 1g-plus in corners, thanks to the 19 and 20″ wheels that are part of the Competition package. The all-wheel-drive system also adds surprisingly little weight and can be switched to rear-drive only. Absolutely the trick. The convertible also moved from the complicated and heavy hardtop mechanism to a more traditional soft top for the first time since the E46. This meant it was about 40% lighter than the hardtop, although this limited the color palette.
So equipped, it starts at $87k - and includes the $1,800 Executive Package, $2,500 M Driver's Package, $900 M Drive Professional Package, $1,000 piano black trim, $650 neck warmers, $30 front Includes seat ventilation. and an individual charge of ~$5k for its Mint Green paintwork. I guess you won't be surprised by the asking price, as a result:
